The fixture instructions say that it will only take a 9watt bulb. We use Philips hue smart lights around the house, but cannot for this fixture (at least with the bulbs we had on hand). Point is, if you're running a smart light system be aware.
Instead we installed a standard 1200lm edison, which in combination with the shade casts a series of streaky shadows across the walls (we like it). We have 2 pendants, but we'll need more light to supplement the room (13'x19')
